Getting Started

Requirements

Your virtual classroom environment audio & video, chat, and lab terminal environments are entirely browser-based. The following requirements will ensure the best student experience:

  • Browser: Google Chrome version 70 or later is recommended, but Firefox and Edge version 79+ should also work
  • Firewall:
    • Port 443 is open.
    • WebSocket traffic is allowed (http and https)
  • Ad Blockers: disable any ad-blocker browser plugins
  • "Incognito": while not required, this can avoid browser caching issues

Compatibility Test

Strigo provides a System Compatibility Test to ensure that your setup is ready to connect to a course. Follow the above link and run the tests!


This course site includes many keyboard shortcuts that make it possible to quickly navigate the labs and resources using your keyboard. There are two modes to cover:

Global Shortcuts

This mode is active when the searchbar is not focused. The following keybindings are available:

  • F , S , / : jump to an open search dialog
  • P , , : go to previous page
  • N , . : go to next page

This mode is active when the search bar is focused. It provides several key bindings to make search accessible and navigable via keyboard:

  • Down , Up : select next / previous result
  • Esc , Tab : close search dialog
  • Enter : follow selected result
